CASHION — Pawnee competed across several events at the Cashion Wildcat Relays on April 3, with athletes gaining valuable experience against a competitive field.
The Black Bears’ boys 4x100 relay placed 22nd (50.51), while the girls 4x400 relay team finished 15th (4:44.23).
Reece Higgins led Pawnee with an eighthplace finish in the 110-meter hurdles (18.58) and later placed 12th in the 300 hurdles.
In the sprints, Alex Birmingham placed 44th in the boys 100 and 35th in the 400. Coy McWilliams (60th in the 100), Camden Evans (90th in the 100) and Coy Williams (54th in the 200) also competed.
On the girls side, Kamber Higgins placed 37th in the 100, while Kayleyjo Quintanilla finished 87th.
In the field events, senior Aiden Jones led Pawnee with a 12th-place finish in the shot put (38-7.5) and 25th in the discus. Adam Pratt placed fifth in the high jump (5-8) and also competed in the 200, finishing 28th.
Freshman Preslie Heisler added a 20thplace finish in the girls long jump.
Pawnee finished 23rd in the boys team standings with one point.
