Charles Page golfers take on Sperry in match-play practice

SAND SPRINGS — Charles Page High School’s boys golf team held a nine-hole match-play practice against the Sperry Pirates on Sept. 22 at The Canyons at Black Jack Ridge.

Freshman Mason Kinser led the Sandites, shooting a 36 while paired with Sperry’s Grant Overfield, who finished with a 49. Kinser’s round included pars on six holes and a birdie on the fourth.

Senior Leo Aary posted a 40 in his pairing with Braxton Kirkendoll of Sperry, who shot 45. Aary carded pars on five holes and a birdie on the seventh hole.

Justin Apple shot 57 while partnered with Houston Asher (51), and senior Conner Roulet also shot 57 with Sperry’s Gunner Hacker recording a 51.

The Sandites used the practice to sharpen their skills ahead of the upcoming spring golf season.

Sandites travel to Tulsa on Oct. 8 to play in the Metro Boys Fall Classic at LaFortune Park Golf Course. Tee time is 9 a.m.
