Mannford boys place seventh at Bristow tournament

BRISTOW — The No. 38 ranked Mannford boys golf team battled through a competitive field Monday, finishing seventh as a team at the Bristow Boys Tournament held at Bristow Golf Course and Country Club.

Mannford posted a team score of 379, with a trio of golfers leading the way with consistent rounds and key scoring stretches.

Junior Kagen O’Neill paced the Pirates with an 86, good for 13th place overall. O’Neill delivered one of the team’s steadiest performances, recording pars on holes 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 13, 16 and 18, and adding a birdie on hole 10 to highlight his round.

Freshman Bently Furr matched O’Neill’s score with an 86 to place 14th. Furr turned in a solid round with pars on holes 4, 5, 12, 13, 14 and 16, continuing to show poise early in his high school career.

Sophomore Bryson O’Neill rounded out the top scorers for Mannford, placing 22nd with an 89. He recorded pars on holes 2, 7, 10, 16, 17 and 18, closing his round strong on the back nine.

Sophomore Triston Carahan added a score of 118, finishing 55th, with a par on hole 2, while junior Grant Porter placed 60th with a 125.
