Tornadoes play Yale Friday night at Yale

First of all I messed up saying that we were playing Yale on Thursday night, it’s on Friday night on Oct. 24 at Yale.

I do have the stats from the Cave Springs fame that we won 50-0.

Garrett Wright rushed for 64 yards on 5 carries. He passed 6 out of 7 for 81 yards and 4 touchdowns. Aiden Lumpkins had two carries for 17 yards and 1 touchdown, he caught one pass for four yards. Cordae McCormick had one carry for five and caught a 0 yard touchdown pass. Keegan Ward carried the ball six times for 54 yards and 1 touchdown. Conrad Reed had three catches for 44 years and two touchdown. Sammy Blackburn one catch for 13 yards and a touchdown. William Stump had one carry for three yards and a touchdown.

On defense Conrad Reed had 17 tackles. Chase Creekmore 10, Aydin Coffelt and Max Gray both had seven tackles each. Krypton Ward six tackles, Kamari Louis five tackles and one fumble recovery. Gavin Howell five tackles, Keegan Ward three tackles and a sack.

The defense held Cave Springs to 47 total yards while the Tornadoes offense had 224 total yards.

Now about Yale, don’t be misled by Yale’s 3-4 record. If they had the same schedule they had last year they’d probably be undefeated like they were last year. This year they have played two Elite teams in Dewar and Weeleekta. Nobody wants to play those two teams in non-district play but Yale did.

Coach Chris Elerick said, “Yale’s a really good team. Their record is what it is. They are talented and play hard. Their offense had big play potential with Braiden Hodgett at tailback and Kaden Teeter at Quarterback. Lucas Reece plays multiple positions as fullback, tight end, receiver.”

“Their defensive line will pressure the other teams quarterback. We need to be less concerned with who we’re playing and be concerned with how we play.

“I don’t like getting caught up with all the negative stuff — it wastes energy.”

Friday night will be a hard hitting ballgame by both sides. Starting at 7 p.m. Be there.

Elerick quoted, “I am more focused about what we’re able to do”.

Assistant coaches are Scott Hollabaugh and Moses Williams. We got a bye last week because Porum didn’t play football this season or last season. We had a forfeit win against Porum.
