First of all I messed up saying that we were playing Yale on Thursday night, it’s on Friday night on Oct. 24 at Yale.I do have the stats from the Cave Springs fame that we won 50-0.Garrett Wright rushed for 64 yards on 5 carries. He passed 6 out of 7 for 81 yards and 4 touchdowns.

LONE GROVE — The Mannford Pirates showed grit and flashes of determination Friday night despite falling 41-0 on the road, in Lone Grove, in a District 3A-2 matchup that tested their endurance and resolve.

Senior fastpitch girls will be remembered

We had three senior girls who were honored on Senior Day so I will write about them. There is also slowpitch softball in the spring so we’re probably saying goodbye to them just untill fast pitch.Avery Todd, most of her career, played in the end.

Wildcat Watch

Olive Wildcat football is 4-2 this football season. They opened up with a 50-36 win at Kremlin Hillsdale. The second game they won 36-30 against Bowlegs. They they lost to Maud 42-39 in a game they led until late. Olive came back and thumped Graham Dustin 48-0 and Life Christian, 50-22.

Drumright beat Cave Springs 50-0 Friday night

Coach Chris Elerick said, “It was a matter of fact kind of game. We didn’t play an exceptionally clean game — lots of penalties — some not so necessary penalties. We gave up several third and long plays that we should have stopped. The defensive line did a lot of good things.

The surest sign of a mature football team is the ability to not look back — because that’s not where you’re going. Whatever happened to the Purple Pirates last week in Perkins did not matter. They knew where they were going — they were going to Bristow to reclaim the “Battle of the Boats” hardware.
