Mannford track sweeps conference, individuals qualify at regionals

MANNFORD — The Mannford Pirate boys and girls track teams turned the postseason into a two-week fl ex, fi rst sweeping the conference championships with both the boys and girls bringing home team chips, then carrying that momentum into the Class 4A Regional at Jay, where the boys fi nished regional runner-up, the girls fi nished third, and a strong group punched tickets to the state meet in Catoosa.

Head coach Nathan Reed said both teams had “great showings," and the scoreboard backed him up twice. At the conference meet, the Mannford girls won the team championship with 166 dominating points, ahead of Bristow's 148 and Cushing's 103. The boys matched them with a conference title of their own, scoring 164 points to destroy Berryhill's 101 and Bristow's 82.

The conference meet was where Mannford stacked hardware by the busload.
