PAWHUSKA — Prue athletes showed resilience and versatility across multiple events at the Pawhuska Invitational on April 2, highlighted by several podium finishes and strong showings in the hurdles and distance races.
The Rockets’ boys 3,200-meter relay team placed sixth in 9:45.84, while the girls 400-meter relay team finished eighth in 58.51.
July Thompson led the way with a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (20.39) and added a sixth-place finish in the 300 hurdles (49.55). Josh Puma also claimed runner-up honors in the 3,200-meter run (11:33.70).
Natalie Taylor delivered a strong distance performance, placing third in the 3,200 (13:11) and sixth in the 1,600 (7:07.47).
In the 400-meter dash, Jacob Stucks placed 24th, while Alex Chavez (37th) and Zane Harbison (41st) also competed.
Prue’s sprint corps included Llamyl Rodriguez (10th in 200), Armando Chavez (11th in 200, 34th in 100), Alex Chavez (33rd in 200) and Zane Harbison (41st in 100).
In the 800-meter run, Gage Berkowitz placed 32nd and also competed in both hurdle events, finishing ninth in the 110 hurdles and 15th in the 300 hurdles.
Field events saw contributions from Caden Coker (31st shot put, 35th discus), Caleb Sogge (33rd shot put), Levi Stucks Jr. (44th shot put), Brycen Capers (46th shot put, 37th discus) and James Stucks (31st discus).
On the girls side, Jemma Wood placed 10th in the 100 (14.04), 10th in the 200 (29.74) and 17th in the 100 hurdles. Deiyanaira Rodriguez competed in multiple events, placing 15th in both the long jump and 100 hurdles and 19th in the 200.
Kendal Thompson (21st shot put, 32nd discus), Arianna McIntire (30th discus, 38th shot put), Kylie Bradley (29th shot put), Rylee Hall (36th discus, 40th shot put) and Chelsea Wilkins (200) added field and sprint depth.
Kiara Hernandez (16th in 400) and Mikaihla Brannan (26th in 400, 13th in 800) contributed on the track, while Lexi Horn placed 25th in the 800.
