Pirate girls win Inola cross country meet

INOLA — Mannford High School’s girls cross country team claimed the top spot at the Inola Cross Country Meet on Tuesday, fueled by strong performances from their varsity runners.The Lady Panthers scored 57 points, holding off Adair (85) and Vinita (92) in the 3,200-meter race.

SHAWNEE — Olive High School’s girls cross country team placed fifth in the Class 1A race at the NRC Pre-State meet on Saturday, closing out a competitive top-five field.The Lady Flyers scored 122 points, trailing Laverne (16), Boise City (69), Hillsdale Christian (79), and Prue (82).

MANNFORD — You could feel it in the air Friday night. Half the crowd rolled down from Cleveland, the other half from Mannford, and they all had to squeeze their trucks into the same asphalt lot that always overflows when these two face off.
