Senior fastpitch girls will be remembered

We had three senior girls who were honored on Senior Day so I will write about them. There is also slowpitch softball in the spring so we’re probably saying goodbye to them just untill fast pitch.Avery Todd, most of her career, played in the end.

Wildcat Watch

Olive Wildcat football is 4-2 this football season. They opened up with a 50-36 win at Kremlin Hillsdale. The second game they won 36-30 against Bowlegs. They they lost to Maud 42-39 in a game they led until late.

Drumright beat Cave Springs 50-0 Friday night

Coach Chris Elerick said, “It was a matter of fact kind of game. We didn’t play an exceptionally clean game — lots of penalties — some not so necessary penalties. We gave up several third and long plays that we should have stopped. The defensive line did a lot of good things.

The surest sign of a mature football team is the ability to not look back — because that’s not where you’re going. Whatever happened to the Purple Pirates last week in Perkins did not matter.

Sandites Make History with 70-0 Shutout, Mark First Three-Game Blanking Since 1938

SAND SPRINGS — In the highest-scoring game since the 84-0 blowout of US Grant in 2022, the Sand Springs Sandites blanked Capitol Hill 70-0 last Friday at home in front of a homecoming crowd, capping off a third consecutive shutout for the first time since 1938.
